Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in San Jose. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in California are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.

Went to get a cake with my daughter for Mother’s Day tomorrow. While ordering, I specifically asked for 2 forks, but only received 1. I could clearly see the staff hesitating and acting reluctant to give an extra fork, which honestly felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. It makes you wonder—how much money is really being saved by not giving one additional fork after a customer has already spent money there? It’s not about the fork itself, but the lack of basic customer service and hospitality. Small gestures matter, especially when customers are paying and expecting a pleasant experience. Left feeling disappointed.

This is easily my absolute favorite bakery. My go-to is always the brioche, I’ve probably bought it hundreds of times! On a recent visit, I tried the Ube Mochi pastry, and it was a total hit. Everything here is delicious, but if I had one 'selfish' complaint, it’s the calorie counts on display. My husband was shocked at how high they were, joking that one pastry is a day’s worth of calories! I guess that’s the price of deliciousness. I try to save half for the next day to stay on track with my diet, but it’s hard to stop once I start!

85°C Bakery Cafe has become a cherished go-to for us in Cupertino, thanks to its consistently delightful selection of freshly baked goods. From pillowy breads to delicate pastries and vibrant cakes, the variety is impressive without feeling overwhelming. Their beverage menu complements the baked items perfectly — whether it’s a sea salt coffee or a fruit tea, everything feels thoughtfully crafted. The interior is clean, modern, and inviting, making it easy to settle in for a quiet moment or a casual catch-up with friends. What really stands out is the consistency. Every time we visit, the treats are fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced — never too sweet or too heavy. The savory options, like cheese breads or garlic rolls, are just as satisfying as the dessert-style items. It’s clear that quality control is a priority here, and the staff play a big role in that. They’re always friendly, efficient, and quick to offer recommendations if you’re unsure what to try. Whether you’re popping in for a quick snack or lingering over coffee and cake, 85°C Bakery Cafe delivers a reliable and enjoyable experience. It’s the kind of place that feels both familiar and special — a neighborhood favor
